Don Hanna Memorial Marching Contest Itinerary

Collins Stadium, Denton
October 5, 2024

For this contest you will need:
_____ SMART tag for the bus
_____Instrument _____Black Shoes
_____Uniform digital top & bibbers _____Black Socks (calf length!!!
_____Black performance shirt _____ Water jug (filled with water)
_____ Accessories (extra reeds, valve oil, etc.) _____ Band ball cap
_____Blue show shirt (to change into after we perform) _____ Sunscreen (!)
_____Extra money for souvies, concessions, etc.
_____Brain (no exceptions!)

Notes:
• This is a required event for all eligible band members.
• We will need some parents to help out with moving podium/front ensemble equipment. Please see the
email sent out by Heather Carter for the Signup Genius list.
• Parents! Tickets to the contest are available online or at the North gate.

Friday evening 10/4 – after school run-through
4:00 – on the field with shakos & gloves
5:00 – rehearsal is over, load the trailers & go home.
Get some rest! We have an early call tomorrow.

Saturday 10/5
5:30 am Band hall opens. Find your garment bag & start changing into bibbers, shoes & socks.
6:00 Roll check in marching shoes, long black socks, bibbers, band short & performance shirt. As we
head to the busses the band fans will have breakfast for us. After you eat make sure the paper
gets to the trash can (play the game!)

6:15 Depart for Denton.
8:30 Arrive at Collins Stadium in Denton. Unload equipment, get into uniform
9:40 Ready to move to warmup
9:45 Warmup time
10:15 Move to the field – get water on the way!!!
10:20 Ready line
10:25 Onto the field
10:30 Performance!
10:45 Exit the field. Head back to the trailer, pack our instruments and get out of uniform, hanging them
carefully in garment bags.
11:30ish After the trailers are loaded & your uniform is hung on your seat window, and you’ve changed into
your show shirt, we will go watch bands until the lunch break at 12:30. Sit together.
12:30 Meet at the busses for roll, and head to eat lunch.
2:00 Roll check at the busses to head back to the stadium.
2:15 We will sit together and watch the last few bands before prelims awards
5:00 Drum majors, guard & drum captains change into uniform for retreat & be at the field entrance by

5:30.

After Prelims are over. If we make finals prepare for our next performance. If we do not make finals we will prepare for departure.
Parents may sign their band member out after the prelims awards.
